I FOUND IT !!
I found it in the SALE. AND THAT'S NOT ALL.....
My MUM bought it for me !!
YEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHH!
I was literally going loopy about this jumper. Couldn't find it in the shop any more, couldn't find it online any more - what on earth had happened to it? God bless you Royal Leamington Spa's Topshop for selling my beloved jumper for £20, in my size, on a random spur of the moment trip to your town. It was definitely meant to be. And thank you Mumma for footing the bill! You lovely lovely lady!
Cannot believe my luck - I wonder if they recalled them or something? Even now that I've bought the darn thing - I went onto the Topshop website, typed in the code on the tag - and it apparently doesn't exist....
Oh well - far less people will own them then! Goody! More brilliance for me.
Seriously -this has made my day. I have cancelled my plans for tonight due to illness and generally not being in the mood, and also due to experiencing more than enough happiness and glee in one day.
I'm watching Sound Of Music. I love Julie Andrews. She'd so rock my new jumper. But she'll never own it, because according to Topshop - IT DOES NOT EXIST ;) Sozza Jules.

Wants of the Week .
It might be on the verge of happening again...
The things I want this week are predominately from New Look...

I initially picked up this simple shirt to try on with a pair of smart hareem trousers (which actually didn't look half bad! The very first pair that don't look godly awful, but in the end I didn't really love them and put them back). But when I tried it on, it just looked so smart, so elegant. I feel a silk shirt fever and I'm not afraid to say it.
I also fell in love a cardigan so perfect it made me want to cry. However, they didn't have it in my size and so.. I shall visit the store regularly until I pick one up (they don't have it on their website suspiciously).
I'm actually quite concerned about the lack of cardigan on the website - I had a very similar scenario over at my old friend, Topshop. Ahem...
In October, I tried on the most perfect jumper, but on seeing the £38 price tag, I put it down. After a month of craving it, I decided enough was enough and headed in store to buy it - but alas, I could not find it. So I tried online, and couldn't find it there, either. God knows what has happened to that perfect jumper, but I still crave it daily. I'm going into New Look tomorrow to see if I can find that cardi again. At £26 and in a gorgeous orangey-mustardy-fawny colour, I need it hanging in my wardrobe; which reminds me...
Today I bought this gorgeous satin navy/dark grey shirt in the Debenhams sale.

I've had my eye on it since I started working there in September, now a sale has come on and I managed to snap it up for £14. Thanks staff discount! Seriously, I'm crazy about silk/satin shirts right now. I just want to raid Topshop's gorgeous collection in all of it's lovely colours.
In other wants..

Beauty and the Beast on DVD. Honestly, I'm shocked no-one thought to buy it for me for Christmas. So... I'm going to need a copy.
So technically, that concludes my wants for now... although I will be wanting some paint for my room because quite frankly, the current appearance of my bedroom bores me to tears... oh and also I'll need money for coffee dates and nights out. So I'll probably be spending another £100 before Christmas is out. Oh dear.

The Many Forms of Olive .
Olive Allegra Florence
Olive Jasperine
Olive Jasperine Kerensa
Olive Jacoba
Olive Jacoba Ishbel
Olive Anna Mythily
Olive Jemima
Olive Lucasta
Olive Ramona
Olive Rosalba
Olive Lenora
Olive Leto
Olive Ivy
Olive Diana Florence
Olive Kerensa Hero
These are just SOME of the Olive combinations that I have been throwing about for the last 3 years. Currently it's Olive Kerensa Hero, but tomorrow? God knows.
Not that it matters, it's just shocking how many possible combos I've been through trying to find the perfect suitor for the ever-gorgeous Olive .
I'm hoping to give names a complete and utter clear out soon. Get rid of the endless lists on my phone's notepad and just completely breathe a sigh of relief from it all.
This won't happen, of course, but it's nice to dream .

Since we've no place to go...
I very nearly begged my Dad to not go to work this morning, but then realised that he's such an invincible superhero that he would go anyway, and as I discovered this morning, I was right. Hopefully he'll return in full working order. His beloved car, too.
This weather makes me want to bake. I want to make pies and crazy little cakes and sausage rolls and party food. Alas, I am sitting here, in the lounge, with my laptop on my lap, attempting to write this blasted essay. I am a brief paragraph in and already bored. My aim for the first day (I hope to get it done by Thursday) is around 800 words. If I can get there then I will be satisfied for today. However, 78 words in with no real research and I'm ready to give up.
Right, I need to think happy thoughts, get food, baking and my father's possible peril off my mind.
Roman slavery, Roman slavery, Roman slavery .

(here is the root of the root and the bud of the bud
and the sky of the sky of a tree called life; which grows
higher than the soul can hope or mind can hide)
And this is the wonder that's keeping the stars apart,
I carry your heart(I carry it in my heart).
Acting .
I want I want I want.
I literally have no idea how to get into it. Literally. If I can avoid drama school I will. I'd love to get my degree in 2012 and literally immediately after jet out to LA, get an agent, wait tables to earn some money, and hopefully get a role in something. A play, a musical, a television programme, an indie film, a blockbuster film. Anything. I just want the chance to act. It's so thrilling and gives me a buzz that I cannot get from anything else.
Someone advise me what to do? I know it's probably wisest to go to drama school, I'd happily go for the contacts alone, but I feel like I've postponed acting enough by doing my degree - after I graduate I just want to get out there, get some experience, get some direction.
I wish uni had a drama club. We have drama productions, but all you can participate in are auditions for the plays, and if you don't get a role you have to wait till next term to audition for the next play - I want a weekly drama society that I can consistently participate and improve in.
I really want to be an actress, and I know I have the ability to do it. I've never admitted that about anything. Even when I was one of 4 picked out of a thousand for ballet school, I always doubted my strength in it. With acting I know I'm good. It sounds big headed, but I should be allowed to be big headed about one aspect of my life, and I'm choosing the area I'm most passionate and ambitious in; acting .
Major Update .
- I have a job in Debenhams that I started in September. I work every Sunday for 5 hours. It's pretty sweet. I am so undeniably awesome at tills. Seriously, I will happily assist you on tills new staff because I am awesome and ended up figuring most of the stuff myself (stupid, pointless 3 hours of till training).
- Uni's amazing, but incredibly stressful this year. I'm learning middle Egyptian hieroglyphs, which is, quite frankly, the hardest thing I have ever done academically. It's more difficult to learn than French or German or Italian or anything like that because the hieroglyph symbols don't directly translate to English - you have to translate them into Egyptian, and then into English - but the Egyptian translations are dependant on the hieroglyphs as simply the Egyptian translation could mean honestly hundreds of things, so you need the symbols to tell you the context of the sentence. Mad. Mental. Tres dificile.
- I GOT MY HAIR CUT; which was a scary prospect at first, but I absolutely love it. I was sick of having long hair, and to be fair my hair is still fairly long, about an inch and a half past my shoulders - but that's very short for me. Now I can put it in a pony tail and it looks cute and in an actual style, instead of looking boring when it was longer. Cannot wait to get my GHD straighteners for Christmas, then I can experiment with putting messy waves in (a la The Olsen twins).
- Fashion is still a major interest for me, and in November I had another article published in my university newspaper. I'm going to write about 10 articles during the Christmas holidays, and then just submit them every week to build up my portfolio.
- Music is still mainly Beirut and almost the entire hip-hop genre, with major MAJOR love for Drake.
- My favourite films this year have been: Kick-Ass, Avatar, Inception, Harry Potter & Toy Story 3. I cannot wait to see Black Swan though - that might just take the biscuit if it loves up to the hype.
- Favourite names still consist of Olive (Mythily Hero), and now also Margalo (Cecilia Scarlet). Rupert (John Asa) now lives in a more prominent position next to old timers Sacha (James Alsandair), Tadhg (William Rex) and Calum (Ashley Wolfram).
Yum yum yum.
-Favourite food is still salads, although I eat FAR FAR FAR less of them now sadly. A good Chicken Caesar Salad will always be one of my favourite meals. (Along with burritos, quattro formaggi pizza and too many others
RIGHTO. I SHALL POST MORE AND MORE BECAUSE I'VE BEEN SEVERELY LAGGING SINCE I STARTED UNI. ♥

Confusions .
Currently I feel like I need a life tutor - someone to sit me down and explain why I can suddenly develop a total longing for a place I've never been to, why I can become so sad at the thought of things that never even occurred to me before, how I can become so passionate about the smallest thing at the drop of a hat.
I feel like narrowing down what I want to do in life in order to cancel out all these feelings of confusion. I'm going to make a list of things I absolutely want to do in my life.
Here is that list;
1. I want my family always. Ohana; Lilo & Stitch.
2. Experience love.
3. Be consistently and effortlessly spontaneous.
4. Wander around the planet.
5. See wild animals.
6. Be an actress.
7. Own a cat.
Oh and be happy ? That'd surely be nice, son .

Sorry Violet .
My maternal grandmother and last grandparent died last week. It's her funeral tomorrow. Her name was Violet. She left no will and now one of my mother's brothers believes he has the right to inherit everything, which as you can imagine has caused many problems for my mother (who's the eldest) and her other brother (the youngest).
This is ongoing and unlikely to end soon, regardless of the fact that a solicitor has said outright that law states that the estate will be split between the surviving children, of which there are 3. My selfish uncle wants the whole house, and because my mother and grandmother had an argument towards the end of my grandmother's life, he suggests my mother get nothing.
He can just fuck the hell away .

Current loves .
- Tattoos. http://www.prettyinky.tumblr.com/
- Olive, Olive, Olive. I watched Little Miss Sunshine the other day, and now it will be impossible for me to have a daughter and not call her Olive.
- Burberry Prorsum. Seriously. Almost every piece, YET AGAIN from their latest collection. I'm loving the aviator jackets, and in this collection there are quite a few .
- Fattening foods. God, don't we all love them ? Especially when they're in our bellies literally hours after declaring we no longer wanted to eat them. Cheese on crackers ? Check. Crisps? Check. Slice of cake? Sure, what the hell. I'm going on the treadmill later until I burn it all off.
- 50s/60s Style - I absolutely love it, not entirely sure why, I just saw an advert for Crabbie's Ginger Beer on the tv and I felt so happy, almost as if I missed times like this.... reincarnation ?
- Leonardo DiCaprio, I once again want your children. I loved you in Titanic and Romeo & Juliet when I was 12 because you looked like a little boy. Now you've filled out and I've grown up and we can be together again. Mmmm.
Speaking of LDiC, I loved Inception, sure I didn't get it for the first half an hour, but then I recognised Joseph Gordon Levitt's face and Cillian Murphy's face and Ellen Page's face and LEO'S face and all was good. It was a bit tricky to understand, but boy was it a clever concept. I think I'll need to watch it again at some point, you know, just to get into it a wee bit more . Ahhh... JGL, CM, EP, LDiC ♥
Do you want to know something that I'm abso-bloody-lutely NOT currently loving ? The new Skins cast.
Umm, no thanks, I'll pass . I cannot see the annoying ginger girl from The Golden Compass having sex and snorting coke (second from left). We'll see .Tuesday, 17 August 2010
BIG LIST TIME .

Saturday, 31 July 2010
Dear JK,

Wednesday, 28 July 2010
I'm back... and bored .
It's crazy how in a completely different country how you can sleep for about 12 hours a night and feel like it's completely the norm.
I'll tell you what I missed though - being able to wear my favourite jumper (which I brought with me begging for a rainy day). It's only a thin jumper, so I had high hopes - but no sir. Every day we hoped for an overcast day so that we could go walking about without fear of passing out and dying on the street,. I remember when we complained a couple of weeks ago when temperatures were reaching around 26 degrees... in Espana it was just under 40. Absolutely scorching.
One of the things I love about Spain is the SHOPPING. Yes, I hate shopping here, because it's monotonous and dull and incredibly stuffy. In Spain it's incredible - every single shop is so stylish and individual and on trend. It's like having 20 Topshops one right after another, all reasonably priced. Absolute heaven.
Whilst in Spain I celebrated my 19th Birthday (gosh, how scary) and it was EPIC.
You'll never, ever, ever believe what my lovely parents got me... ready ? No there's no way you're possibly ready... give yourself another minute or two...
Ready ?
YES :)
Alexander McQueen Scull Scarf. My parents went and bought me a genuine, gorgeous Alexander McQueen Scull Scarf. I nearly wet myself with glee ! I also got Chanel Chance perfume (the green one) and some jewellery. It was such a good birthday! Then we went shopping :) Perfect day.
And then we came home. And all was dull and boring again. I'm literally bored ALL THE TIME. Today I was so bored I cleaned the entire kitchen. I even mopped and sweeped and disinfected everything. I might just carry on reading my book. I bought Lucky by Alice Sebold at the market on Saturday, and got straight into it... it's not a particularly large book so I hope to finish it this week, and then I can get the last Alice Sebold book, Almost Moon, at the market this Saturday. Perfecto.
So yeah, Spain, hothothot, birthday, McQMcQMcQ, happyhappyhappy, home, dull, bored. But hey, at least I've had the opportunity to wear my favourite jumper :)

The Week Ahead .
This week is gonna be a good one, I can feel it in my left toe.So:
Mon - Today - Nothing much, but possibly picking up my new sets of glasses in time for my holidays.
Tues - Again nothing much, maybe a bit of shopping for the hols.
Wed - Birmingham with BFF for shopping and then Gatecrasher ♥
Thurs - Brother's Prom - I think I'm more excited than him :)
Fri - Last minute mental work-out day in time for hols.
Sat - Last minute shopping day for hols
Sun - SPAIN ♥
WAAHAHHHHHHHHH !! So excited.
Then while in Spain I have my birthday ! I've told my parents to leave any presents they're unsure about packing and bringing back here for me after the holiday. - I really don't care about presents this year, because I'll be in Spain anyway - I'll be in happy mode regardless :) Plus my parents have forked out a fortune on me this year - so I've only asked for some Chanel perfume and a nice card :) Aren't I good ?

Duh-vuh-duhs + Cradle snatchers .
I'm going to get them this Summer, although I don't think that Beauty & The Beast is out on DVD yet... and I also really want Kick Ass on DVD so I might need to set aside some moulah for that.
Oh golly, speaking of Kick Ass - I fell a bit in love with that main Kick Ass guy and so IMDBed him and not only is the 20 year old engaged, but his fiance is pregnant...
But it doesn't stop there..
She's 43.
Yeah... I know. I wonder where down the line he'll realise that he probably jumped into this too quickly, and I also wonder when she'll look in the mirror and realise what a frigging cradle-snatcher she is. I don't care if they're in love, it's highly impractical. When poor Aaron (for that is his name) is middle aged, she'll be receiving her pension. It's a bit perverted on both parts.
Anywhoo. Yeah, DVDs; Beauty & The Beast + Mulan + Kick Ass.

OH MY GOD .
Matt Bellamy, please consider serenading me in my sleep, it would look truly epic on your CV. Promise.
Seriously, Muse ? Did you see them at Glastonbury ?
Now, I could be very cool here and declare that I went to Glastonbury, hat a quick chat with Emma Watson and proceeded to get off with Matt Smith before heading over to the Pyramid stage to watch Muse, because surely, none of you would be any wiser if I did or not. However, I actually love you if you're still bothering with even checking this blog. It's undeniably lame now. Thanks if you've stuck through it. (Shout out to Beth Ruby! Hollah!) I shall not lie to thee. I watched them on'telly :) And then BBC iPlayer the next day, because 3 hours was certainly not enough.
So. Here is my NEW list of priorities...
1. Getting in shape (which is going surprisingly well).
2. Matt Smith
3. MUSE.
Oh god. Oh love. Oh be still my beating heart. Arise fair sun and kill the envious moon.
Speaking of number twoooo...
DOCTOR WHO ANYONE ?
I die, I die, I die.
I need to get Steven Moffat's number so I can suggest I come and play a younger version of River Song in the next series. He will love this idea, naturally, and thus starts my bustling acting career.
I really want a still of the bit in the last episode where The Doctor is leaning against the wall at the wedding after the epic dancing. SWOON, NEAR DEATH OF RACHAEL, SWOON IN NEAR DEATH, RESUSCITATION, SWOON ONCE MORE.
OH MY GOD. What if they put Doctor Who to Muse music. YOUTUBERS HEAR MY CRY !
...that is all. Seriously, still of The Doctor at the wedding, and YouTube video of Doctor Who to Muse please? Why are you still sitting there ?

List.
I have work to do.
I'm doing a list anyway, then I'm washing up, then getting in bed to actually do the frigging work.
RIGHTO.
Here is a list of everything I love right now;
Matt Smith.
Cheese.
Peanut Butter.
Chocolate.
Drake.
My bed.
Being alone in my flat because everyone's gone home for summer.
The name Ramona.
My cat.
The prospect of seeing my home friends again.
Animals.
Taxidermy animals.
Bones
The idea of doing almost HARD CORE EGYPT modules next year.
The colour blue.
My bedroom wallpaper, DESPITE what my mother says.
Disney & Pixar
Icanhazacheezburger.
List done :)
Oh, quick note ;
Whenever I say I love Doctor Who, I'm lying, the show is but average, the only reason I watch it is because I am irrationally and irrevocably in love with Matt Smith. Especially when his hair is like this;

Why can't it be this long and flicky and adorable now ? It lacks the flamboyancy when it's shorter.

Happy Birthday Johnny Depp .
I swear you get better and better every year.
Don't ruin the Pirates franchise now will you ? Take it easy, keep it subtle .
Love you.

Everyone Glare at Gillan .
I hate her because;
A - I'm jealous of her being in Doctor Who with the ever-adorable Matt Smith.
B - She does the whole 'acting quirky' 101 routine. Mad facial expressions? Check. Quick, crazy arm movements? Check. OBVIOUS. DULL. EXTREMELY NON-QUIRKY.
C - I could do a much better job than her in that programme.
D - She comes across as being stuck up and unapproachable.
But I love her all-of-a-sudden because of this dress;

Can you say wowza? Love love love.
This was worn at the Glamour awards, where Billie Piper looked faboosh, too (who has also been in Doctor Who, and has apparently dated Matt Smith briefly in the past after working with him on Secret Diary of a Call Girl , but I love Billie Piper, and so I can forgive this).

♥

Yey.
I am very happy.
All I need to worry about now is my practical module which I've already started and doesn't require much worry.
Just letting you know :) I can finally read, shop and enjoy the weather.

Derren Brown is actually amazing. LOVE.
My new best friend.

This is Stitch. He is tiny, and adorable and blue and has amazing hair. I couldn't resist. I cuddle him while revising. He makes me happy when Stewie from Family Guy isn't on my screen.I did it .

My House .
Here's the story;
Emily, Alex, Nicky, Brishen and I all agreed to live together and look for a 4 bedroom house to rent at the start of the year (Jan). About a week after deciding this, Nicky dropped out saying that she wanted to live with some people in a different flat because she spends more time with them and thought it was a sensible decision. We agreed. And then there was 4. We started looking for a 3 bedroom house (Alex and her boyfriend {who doesn't go to uni, but has been living with her in her uni room all year} Brishen would be sharing a room). I wasn't able to go with Emily, Alex & Brishen to look for a house on the day they did because I had a lecture, but they told me to trust them on a house, and they put all our names down for it.
We signed the contract in January and have been looking forward to it ever since (apart from Emily and I not discussing who got the upstairs, and who got the downstairs bedroom - Alex and Brishen were getting the bigger upstairs bedroom with the double bed).
This afternoon Alex came into my room and told me that she's quitting her course next year and therefore won't be living with me and Emily next year - Brishen obviously won't be living with us either. Which leaves just Emily & I.
Then I text Emily saying 'Shotgun Alex's big room! Haha' and she texts back basically saying that she wants the big room so its easier when her boyfriend comes to stay. I can't really argue, she has a genuine excuse for needing the room, but I did kind of want the room. Ah well, I'm upstairs, out of harms way and next to the bathroom. :)
We just need to find a new housemate soonish or Alex will have to pay for the whole year. Either way, it's not really mine and Emily's problem - we won't be paying any more. I'm a bit concerened about if we do find a new housemate though - what will she be like? (we would both prefer a girl). Will she be messy, noisy, a drug addict ? She'll be living downstairs regardless... but that means she's near the kitchen - will she be the type to steal food? That's if we even find a housemate.
Wahey! More stress ! :(
No, not really, but hey, I'm a drama queen today - go with it !
Two things.
2. I'm starting to prefer Tumblr to Blogger. Seriously. I might start ANOTHER blog over on tumblr which consists mainly of reblogs. There are just so many lovely pictures that I want to reblog and can't right now because my Tumblr is about tattoos (and random bursts of desire).
Hmm, maybe I'll start it in the summer - not that I'll have any time in the summer because I've gone and done something really stupid - I've got myself a summer job.
It's in an Oyster and Champange restaurant which is scary because not only have I never worked in restaurant before, but because it's a really swish expensive restaurant where people want the best. The food is really expensive and the champagne is really expensive and there are just such high expectations. Every time I think about working there in the summer - I get butterflies of fear in my stomach which makes me feel physically sick. I really want to ring up the manager and come up with some lame excuse as to why I can't work there anymore. Something to do with a large piece of uni work to be done over summer or something. I had my two shifts before I left for uni again during Easter - and it went well, but the hours are really late (the second night I got back at about 1 in the morning - and I was driving - which was scary).
I hate the pressure, I hate the late nights, I hate how she incorrectly taxed me on my minimal earnings and didn't give me my tips, I hate how I'm too scared to call up and complain.
I really don't want to do this job anymore, but part of me just thinks that it's just because I'm lazy and want all of summer off. Then another part of me thinks that I should just carry on with the job because I'll earn lots of money (one guy left a £40 tip) and it'll be a good experience and that I should just grow up, and stop worrying. But what if when I ring up to say I'm going on holiday for a couple of weeks in July she tells me off and cuts me loose? I'm so scared to ring her. Plus, she owes me about £12 in unecessarily cut taxes and at least that again in tips.
I really don't know what to do.
Sorry, that was more like 3 things.
Day 8

Yes, I used my notice board to make a collage. Problem ? And yes, I was supposed to be revising for my Egypt exam when I took this picture - but hey, at least I got it done !

Day 7
LOST
It's nearly over after 6 merciless seasons. I can't believe it. I can't believe I'm still watching it to be honest - but I doubt I'll ever regret watching Lost - it's been a part of my life these last 6 years, and it's my enthusiasm for Lost that has got me devoted to other shows, too. I never knew one show could mean so much to me before Lost. Yeah, there was Coronation Street and Dexter's Laboratory and Even Stevens, but Lost was actually deeply important.
I love Sawyer. He makes Lost what it is - forget Jack and Kate and Kate and Jack - you need to be focusing on Sawyer. And Sayid. And Locke. And Charlie. And DESMOND ahh <3
Ahem, yeah, Lost FTW.

Day 6
Aint No Sunshine - Bill Withers // Nantes - Beirut
It's hard to pick a favourite song, but if I could, it would definitely be one of these two. I love how timelessly perfect they are. Especially Aint No Sunshine - recorded in c1972 ? Timeless. Love it so much - no modern version does it justice. Nantes was the song that got me into Beirut and still almost reduces me to tears every time I hear it - and I have no idea - I just absolutely want to marry this song.
Sorry I can't go into more detail - but these songs speak for themselves.

Day 5.
Cheese
I love a good block of mature cheese more than a lot of things. I could happily nibble on a thick slice of mature cheddar for hours. It's my favourite food ever. YES it's fattening. YES it's gone off milk. Really wish I cared. I don't think I could ever be annorexic due to my overwhelming adoration for the cheesey variety.
Some of my favourite cheeses;
Welsh Mature Cheddar
Wensleydale crumbly
Cheshire crumbly
Davidstow Mature Cheddar
- Green waxy mature cheese from Morrisons whose name draws a blank.
Philadelphia (oh yes... speadable cheeses !)
Dairylea
Babybel
Goats cheese (i like them as breaded sticks)
I'm going to go grab a slab of cheese now actually. I have a nice bit of Davidstow in the fridge - if you'll excuse me.

Day 4
The Lovely Bones
Unlike the angelicised film, the book is dark, significant and powerful.
Narrated by a girl in heaven, who was raped and murdered by her neighbour. The book is about her family coming to terms with her death and trying to investigate into who did it. We also see the girl in her own heaven with her other dead friends and their own idyllic little individual paradise.
It's such a brilliant book - it keeps you riveted from start to finish. Do they catch her murderer ? I'm not going to ruin the ending - besides, that element is not really the main focus of the book.
Plus there's a yellow dog called Holiday in this book. Errr...hello? Instant love.

Day 3
Zach Condon of Beirut
Literally the most beautiful music I have ever heard. Every single song has moments of pure joy for me. Please keep in mind that Beirut are a folk/indie band - I specialise in hip-hop. That's how amazing this man's voice is to my ears. Love love love.
I love how occasionally Zach sounds out of control, but then you realise that's the point, that's the attraction to his gorgeous voice which sounds like it should belong to a mustached 1940's gentleman in a dinner suit singing at a formal engagement.
I love Zach Condon. I love Beirut. Favourite band ever ever ever.

Day 2
Gladiator
I dislike Russell Crowe as an actor incredibly, but this film without him would have been inexplicably bad. He doesn't make the film though, that award goes to the immense Joaquin Phoenix who plays the merciless Commodus. However, I can't possibly imagine another actor playing Maximus quite as well. This film has absolutely everything you could ever want in a film:
An amazing plot, a bit of action, a bit of romance, a bit of revenge and of course, a bit of emotion. When I first watched this film I cried for ages. My brother (who claim's he is all hard and shizz) also cries at the end of this film. It just strums at your heartstrings.
Another thing about this film I love is the fact that it is my Dad's favourite film, also. We once started watching it at 10 oclock at night, completely forgetting that it's about 2 and a half hours long. I was about 15... ooops. Mum wasn't very happy, especially as it was a school night and everyone else was in bed. It was awesome, though. Happy memories, with Daddy and me, watching Gladiator - the best film of all time.

Day 1
Joaquin Phoenix.
Why ? Amazing in everything I've ever seen him in, ever. That's why. There doesn't need to be any justifying when it comes to the Phoenix. He's just fandabbydosey.
Favourite role: Commodus in Gladiator.
And because we don't want this to come across as sexist, I'll name my favourite actress, too.
Julia Roberts/ Meryl Streep.
YES, I HAVE TWO WHOM ARE LOVED IN EQUAL MEASURE. Julia Roberts because she is just so believable and has nice teeth. Meryl because she's still at it even though she's 50+. You go sister ! (Saying that Meryl's amazing is like saying an orange is orange).
Julia Roberts- Favourite role: Erin Brockovich.
Meryl Streep- Favourite role: Miranda Priestly in The Devil Wears Prada .
I also love Helena Bonham Carter, but I thought 3 might be pushing it.
Hell!
Helena Bonham Carter- Favourite role: Marla in Fight Club.
Love love love :)

Cry? Rejoice? Both? Either way - DOCTOR WHO tonight :) :) :)
Jealousy is the word I'm looking for, I think.

A Random Post.

Mmm. He should just look like that full time :)
I'm really supposed to be revising, but this is so much more fun. What to do now.... hmm? OH EMM GEE - It's Saturday tomorrow, which means - Doctor Who + Over the Rainbow ! YEY! V.v.v. excited.
On another coooool note, the Election Debate took place at my university last night - so busy all day due to camera vans littering the whole campus. Nearly couldn't get into the library, but made it! Oh thank goodness.
I've just decided my modules for next year, I've gone for Forensic Archaeology, Roman Slavery, Egyptian Hieroglyphics & a core module of Interpreting Landscapes/Ancient Egypt . Sounds like a wicked year ahead! WOOP.
I'm wearing my Gaga t-shirt today, it always puts me in such a bizarre mood. Sorry about this.

WHAT IS GOING ON IN THIS WORLD?

Monday, 26 April 2010
'Chat' .
MUM: I wonder why on earth they chose this guy for Doctor Who. I hope they have a special show on it, because it's baffling me. Just why have they chosen him?
ME: *sigh* I don't know, Mum.
BROTHER: His face looks like, you know, like that girl in Grey's Anatomy who had her face smashed in with a pole.
ME: Whaat?
MUM: Yeah! Yeah, he does! Haha.
ME: Ha, I can't believe you just said that, you're both so cruel.
MUM: But doesn't he, Rachael?
ME: No?

♥
It's fair to say that I'm a little obsessed with Freja Beha Erichsen. Every picture I see of her I love. I love her cute little haircut and her amazingly awesome tattoos. I love how painfully skinny she is. I just love her. :)I want this dress, and that haircut.
-------------------------------------------------------
On a random note, I bought Sweeney Todd on DVD the other day - how annoying is Jamie Campbell Bower in it? It's odd how such a beautiful person can be so unattractive due to annoying facial expressions. But hey, he sings like a little angel. I watched this random show on TV last night called 'The Prisoner'. It's a remake of a 1960s thing. Anyway, Jamie Campbell Bower was in it - and far more appealing, probably because I don't recall him speaking, or opening his mouth in any way. He's such a pot of marmite.
(The desire for the bird tattoo is still present).

A Decision ?
Monday, 19 April 2010
Wants .
I want the kaleidoscopic colourful tee, and the owl tee, and the elephant dress and the light denim jeans and everything ?
Oh boy.
To be honest, this is comfort online browsing. I'm still in shock over the whole "Hey I'm Matt Smith, the quirky, cute Doctor Who... and I'm dating Daisy Lowe" incident. Never mind.
So, Zara? And erm... fish fingers and custard? (sob)
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

Burberry Prorsum FTW .
Lets start with the trench coats, shall we?
The Parachute Trench Coat.

The Suede Epaulette Trench Coat.

And in case it gets a bit too warm for suede...
The Silk Epaulette Trench Coat.

There's a Cotton one too, but I thought two was quite enough to my love across :)
Such gorgeous coats. Each equally pricey at a couple of grand each (although the silk one is just under 2.)
Burberry Prorsum haven't just captured my love in their delectable trenches though, oh no..
This Chiffon Dress is unbelievably elegant.

And this Sequin Zip Dress is unbelievable hardcore.

Jersey Knotted Leggings - a fresh take on the overdone Sass&Bide Skinny Rat PVC leggings.

And if you have a spare £12,250..
Alligator Barbed Wire Chained Tote Bag anyone ? I'd like it in faux Alligator, please. That'd save a few grand.

♥ ♥ ♥
URGH .
On a random note - I want a tattoo more than ever. What of ? God knows. Where ? God knows. I'm far too busy with my essay and work to worry about it right now - but whenever I have a spare moment, I ponder what to get. I'm thinking a simple bird outline somewhere on my arm - discreet, but still visible when I want it to be.
Or maybe text saying something?
Precise, I know .

Indecisiveness .
The shop-workers in the shop just stared at me like I was some sort of moron, which I am.
This morning I came down wearing a coral pink dress, with my taupey-grey coloured Lady Gaga t-shirt over the top, and black tights. Mum instantly says - 'that really doesn't go', and even though I believe it does go and looks quite funky, I now have the most overpowering urge to go upstairs and change my outfit.
I seek approval constantly - when I'm clothes shopping, I always think 'Would Mum like me in this? What would she say?' - when it doesn't even matter - even when I'm at Uni, and miles away from home, I'm still burdened by the thought of what my mother would think. It's not right. Even when it's something as simple as buying sweets 'What would Mum buy?'. I think it's a form of insecurity. It's frustrating as hell. Because when we are out shopping and I pick something up she'll go 'Oh that's nice' when I know she doesn't really like it. So even though I feel bad because Mum doesn't like it - I'll buy it anyway. Then I'll put it on when we get home and Mum will say 'That looks so much nicer on! I would have never have thought that top was worth buying, but it's actually really lovely, isn't it?'.
So basically - my mother has NO eye when it comes to clothes, and she judges things on how they look in shops which in many ways I judge her for, but then I take her opinion SO seriously on what I wear - it completely doesn't make any sense does it? Especially when her sense of style is so questionable.
Anyway, I best get writing up notes for this essay, all the while wondering whether I should go get changed.

Pretty Inky .
Go there :)
It's my tumblr site dedicated to tattoos I find and like on the web.
It's a lot of fun.

How time flies.
Okay, I've been doing an average amount of stuff, socialising and sitting on the sofa mostly. However, an attempt at work has been included in the swamp of relative nothing-ness. Seriously worried about how behind I am. It's day 5 of week 2. I haven't even finished one essay yet, let alone two +revision.
Oh bollocks.
Anyway, the chocolate went down quickly and comfortably, I'm sure you're keen to hear - ate it all in about three days. I've been eating nothing but crap this holiday, actually. But I suppose it will all stop on April 26th when I go back to uni. I hope. Will it? I've still got loads of crisps and sweets and stuff left over from last term. It's not is it? Ah well !
I've been really getting back into loving interiors and furniture again (sorry if this 'again' comes as a surprise - I don't remember telling you the first time). I love picking out hypothetical pieces of furniture for a hypothetical future living room/kitchen/bedroom/dining room/bathroom etc. Fun, fun, fun.
I'm going to New Look soon to go buy some stuff :) I want a trilby hat, sandals and some summery stuff. I got 25% off in my Grazia magazine so I'm gonna go wild.
I'm not allowing myself to buy any more DVDs until Avatar comes out, so they're off the table if I venture into other shops. Very sad indeed. I might just browse in HMV... you know...just in case.
Haha .

Oh Chuuuuck!
Shocking.
Poor Chuck! As if that beautiful child hasn't got enough on his plate, his own mother makes a deal with his devil uncle and then runs away! Chuck-a-doodle-do is better without her fo sho.
And isn't Nate a sweetheart? His likeness to the puppets in Team America has always put me off, but he's so sweet to Little J, it makes him attractive.
Serena is a dull as wallpaper this season. I miss her with Dan - who is also piss-boring this season. What is god's name happened ? Bring back Serena's nemesis! What was her name? Victoria? Georgina ! That was it, Georgina - bring her back, she was brilliantly evil.
Originally, Dan Humphrey was my faaaave male character - I just loved his earthy hansome intelligence. After a while, Chuck got a serious amount of loving (when he started to fall in love with Blair). Nate's never ever had love, ever.
I think the couples should be like this;
Dan + Serena ♥
Blair + Chuck ♥ (4eva n evaaa)
Nate + Vanessa/Little J - I don't really care tbh.
Oh, and as a passing thought - what the hell happened to Eric Van der Woodsen ? Did he disappear off the face of the planet ? Bring him back! Make him have a gay love affair with Nate! Hahaa. Quality television that would be.
- Nate Archibald ?
- Gary from team America ?
Weird dream.
Basically Heath Ledger was in it and it was pretty normal. I won loads of random dance competitions and at the end of receiving my little certificate thing, Heath and I went off to watch a play. Bizarre, yet unbelievably normal. That was it really. We chatted about tattoos and such - and I looked down, and I was covered in little, intricate tattoos that looked like stickers - cherry blossom leaves and birds, all across my arms and shoulders. I was really happy. Then I woke up because I could hear movement in the kitchen downstairs. I tried to get back into the dream but I absolutely couldn't. Another brief moment with the Ledger; short but sweet.
Does it mean something when you dream about chatting with people who are dead?
Often, it's hard to draw the line between dream and reality, but it's pretty clear that it was in your head when the person you talked to was dead. (Oo, rhyme).
------------------------------
I got some good news last night - my Finds Training module has been scheduled for 31st May -18th June, which means, quite frankly, that I will have a lovely long Summer. Second year doesn't start until mid-October, so I'll have pretty much 3 + 1/2 months off. Heaven. Doing lots of nothing hopefully :)

Let's all start a blog!
I'm such a snidey bitch at times.
------------------------------------------------
Easter so far has been lovely, apart from the over-hungover-ness and the annoying twang of guilt that I should be doing work AT ALL TIMES.
I'm going to go for a Medium/Small Lindt Chocolate Easter Bunny, and a bag of Viennese Truffles from Thorntons for Easter. I normally don't care - but I'm getting gradually fatter so I might as well enjoy not fitting in clothes as comfortably as I used to. I need to quote Lily Allen here:
"Now I'm not a saint, but I'm not a sinner; and it's all good as long as I'm getting thinner."
I pleased to say that I am over-exaggerating when i say that I don't fit in clothes any more - I do, but I'm just paranoid that I'm constantly putting on weight, and while that's not necessarily an issue of any strength - I don't want to be one of those 'large' girls. You know, the ones that aren't necessarily overweight by any means, but because they are tall and have curves, they instantly just come across as HUGE. I really don't want to be one of them. REALLY don't.
I know I'll never be petite, because, let's face it, I'm 5ft9 - I'm automatically 'big', so having any excess weight just doesn't sit well on my mind, even though my frame can carry it.
RIGHT, enough about weight. I'm getting another cup of coffee - my fourth cup today. Caffeine junky much ?

LOOK AT THEM SHINE ♥
However, it wasn't easy to get a new little beauty. Here's my struggle... *cue opening credits*.
Well, Dad and I ordered a new Nokia 6700 Classic from a Chinese website (for full info as to why, read 'The Olde Ballad of the Lost Phone'). And it arrived Friday morning at home. However, Dad rang me to say that they'd sent a black one instead of a shiny silver one. Yeah, deeply frustrating. So he said he'd give them a bollocking and send it back.
A few hours later, Mum rang me to say that phone was of really poor quality - it didn't feel real and the camera was awful alongside other descriptions which implied that the phone wasn't up to standard. So she suggested that we start looking for one online, so we did.
Next day (yesterday, Saturday), Dad texts me suggesting that I just buy one from town. So I research online, but for what I wanted, it looked like I was about to be paying well over £200. However, Dad phoned up the phone company and asked if my contract sim could be used in a pay-as-you-go phone - which it could - which meant that I could buy a pay-as-you-go phone for much cheaper :)
So I popped into town and picked up the shiny little beauty for £159.99. The best thing about the price is that my parents very kindly payed for half of it :) So it only really cost me £80, which is only £20 more expensive than the knock-off Nigel one from China. DONE :)
However, the previous self-suggestion that I name the phone Luna is dead - it doesn't feel right. The phone shall remain nameless for now.
The only thing I hope to do now is as follows; During my reading week, Dad mentioned something along the lines of 'If you fancied using the Internet/emails on your phone, I could call up and arrange that into your contract if you'd like'. So I might take him up on the offer this Easter - however, I'd like it to be cheap - Parents are currently paying £12.50 for my contract a month, the addition of Internet/emails on it could bump it up to £17.50, but I'm hoping Dad can do a deal and get it all inclusive for £15 a month. He HAS been with Vodafone since the mid 90s. He's a loyal customer, he deserves it :)
But for now, my phone is so shiny and gorgeous and makes little noises and is generally stupendous. I love you Nokia 6700 Classic in Silver. I love you.

Plastic Beach .
I have a definite addiction to this album. An absolute, troublesome addiction.
Sure, Demon Days was a bit easier to get into, what with its' instant hits in singles such as 'Dirty Harry', 'Dare' and 'Feel Good Inc.'
Plastic Beach takes on the idea of the world after the apocalpse of Demon Days and what's left to focus on in the world. It's much more chilled out and relaxed, with the odd bit of rapping to shake things up a bit.
Upon first hearing, I didn't really care for this album too much - I think it was Snoop Dogg on the second track - not something you expect nor want on a Gorillaz album. However, after a little while and a second listening, I couldn't help but fall madly in love with it. It's so easy to listen to, and flows effortlessly together.
I was shocked how quickly I had all the songs stuck in my head alongside the Gaga and Beirut ones that I've not been able to get out for months now. This was after merely a couple of days.
It's actually mesmerising to listen to. It's innocent, yet so severe at the same time - the songs are almost impossible to analyse, and I kind of like that quirkyness.
Speaking of quirkyness, there are some insane songs on this album. Literally, insane. It's almost like they decided early on that they wanted a 16 track album, and then regretted it half way through and decided to make some that are so silly, such as Superfast Jellyfish, alongside ones that in my opinion, don't sound like they belong on the album: such as Sweetstakes.
Apart from those minor blips, the album is marvelous, and goes on nicely from Demon Days although I'd like to announce that in terms of ranking, that both Demon Days and Plastic are about even on the scale. - Both get a 9/10 :)
So.

RIP Old Cast of Skins.

Why Primark on a Sunday afternoon is heaven;
2. Due to less people, workers can actually work and tidy things up so it doesn't look like a jumble sale.
3. Because the ques take about 1-3mins tops to get through.
So basically, go to Primark late on a Sunday afternoon (I went about 4.30). When I had a quick peek in on Monday a couple of weeks back it was heaving. Trust me, Sunday's the key ;)
From Primark I bought some pyjamas (because my current ones are dirty and I don't have enough laundry to justify the £2.20 wash, then the £1 dry.) some slippers (uber comfy and snuggly) a swimming cosy (my thighs are huge and cellulite-y in it, but I'm thinking that after a few times being put to use, that this may not be as much of an issue ? Wishful thinking ?) and some bangles. Only came to £19 in total. Bargain.
Yesterday I also bought some more shampoo, a Grazia magazine, lunch at EAT (ham&cheese panini of course ♥) and Billy Elliot on DVD. OH, and two MEGA boxes of tissues - this cold is full on taking the Michael now. How is it possible that I have so much snot in my head ? Seriously ?
On a serious note, I'm concerned that I'm starting with Sinusitis again. The colour of my mucus is severely discoloured (mostly a sort of army khaki colour, but can occasionally be orange), and I'm experiencing occasional twinges of pain from my sinuses on the top of my cheeks, under my eye. However, symptoms are no where near as bad as last time (no fever, dizziness etc), so I'm thinking that I'm a hypochondriac who needs to calm down.
However, I was given antibiotics for my Sinusitis last time, and apparently it can come back afterwards if you take antibiotics. Concerning to say the least.
Anyway, yesterday was a lovely day, came back from town to find a full house (it had been just me and one other flatmate who I don't talk to terribly often), so that was nice, had a quick chat. Then had a very social dinner with everyone in the lounge watching Jumanji. Then I had an hour and half phone conversation with my BFF from home, then I downloaded Gorillaz new album, Plastic Beach (which is BIZARRE, by the way, more on that to come), then I had a shower, got into my new jim-jams from Primark and went to bed. Heavenly.
This morning I spent a couple of hours making a whopping camouflage on my notice board. It makes the room look so much cleaner having a focal point and not just pictures dotted around everywhere. Plus, I needed some room for my revision notes, that I still yet to begin, by my desk - so I just consolidated everything onto my notice board. I'm far too organised to need a notice board anyway. I have the memory of an elephant :)
Well this has been a nice ramble, however I do have work to do and websites to browse, so if you'll excuse me ;)

WS2

I NEED this poster in my room. Don't ask why. (Shia) There's no real reason why, to be honest (
Oh yeah, and Shia LaBeouf is in it, which I suppose, makes the film seem a bit cooler .
