Day 4 - Favourite Book
The Lovely Bones
Unlike the angelicised film, the book is dark, significant and powerful.
Narrated by a girl in heaven, who was raped and murdered by her neighbour. The book is about her family coming to terms with her death and trying to investigate into who did it. We also see the girl in her own heaven with her other dead friends and their own idyllic little individual paradise.
It's such a brilliant book - it keeps you riveted from start to finish. Do they catch her murderer ? I'm not going to ruin the ending - besides, that element is not really the main focus of the book.
Plus there's a yellow dog called Holiday in this book. Errr...hello? Instant love.
